What are the common types of wood
1. Redwood
There are red sandalwood, rosewood and huanghuali. Red sandalwood is produced in subtropical regions, such as India and other Southeast Asian regions. There is a small amount of production in Yunnan, Guangdong and Guangxi in my country. The wood is shiny and fragrant. After long exposure to the air, it turns purple-red-brown, interlaced with art and science, and has a dense structure, corrosion resistance, strong durability, and a hard and delicate material.
Huanghuali is a rare tree species unique to our country. The wood is shiny and has a spicy taste; the texture is oblique and interlaced, the structure is fine and uniform, and it is resistant to corrosion. Strong durability, hard material and high strength.
2. Oak
Oak furniture is now the most common wood in Nordic and American style homes. Oak is the national tree of the United States, with large reserves in the United States. American red oak (also the main material of E&N products) and American white oak are one of the precious tree species that are as famous as mahogany and walnut.
The core of the oak tree is yellowish brown to reddish brown, with obvious growth rings, slightly wavy, heavy and hard. It is distributed in my country from Jilin in the north, Liaoning to Hainan and Yunnan in the south, but high-quality wood is rare, and high-quality oak is still needed. Imported from abroad, high-quality materials amount to nearly 10,000 yuan per cubic meter, which is also an important reason for the high price of imported oak for furniture and flooring.
3. Fraxinus mandshurica
It is also known as ash wood, and is also referred to as Qu Liu in folk. The texture is harder than walnut. Together with walnut tree and yellow pineapple, it is one of the three most precious tree species in Northeast China. Because of its beautiful and generous texture, it is widely recognized by the market, and it has also become a commonly used tree species for well-known domestic solid wood furniture manufacturers, and it is widely used to make veneer panels.
4. Huanghuali
The color of rosewood ranges from light yellow to purple, solid wood, exquisite patterns, in a figure eight shape, and full of fragrance when sawn. Huanghuali had no such name in ancient times, only “Hua Li” or written as “Hua Pear”. Later, Huanghua Li was crowned with the main difference from the so-called “New Huali”, because Hainan Huali was cut down as early as the end of the Ming Dynasty, so the material was used. Most of them are imported rosewood from Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, but there are many varieties, different in quality, and the quality varies greatly.
5. Agarwood
Agarwood is divided into four specifications: No. 1 incense (heavy and strong in quality), No. 2 incense (firm and strong in quality), No. 3 incense (loose in quality and good in fragrance), No. 4 incense (Floating pine in quality, and light in fragrance) . Its shape is irregular, and the surface is mostly rotten wood-like bumps and bumps, with knife marks and occasional holes, and the markings of dark brown resin and yellow and white wood can be seen.
